The horse stands in front of you, but do you really see him?
He speaks to you, but can you hear what he has to say?

These lectures are interactive, social and nurturing experiences aimed at providing a supportive learning platform for horse persons of any level of experience.
Continuity is extremely important so it is important to note these lectures are not available as 'one-off' classes. Rather, the classes develop from one to the next. The aim is to build a network of like-minded people who can support and encourage each other as they learn, and to increase your knowledge base.

The content of the course will take you on a journey through the horse, and from the horses view in many places...anatomy and physiology is made easy to understand and interesting. Knowing the horse physically enables you to understand how he truly functions, how you affect him as a rider and how to work with him to strengthen his body without harming him. Interactive lessons will see you painting the musculature and skeletal system onto a live horse amongst other things. Knowing him psychologically, you will understand many more of his behaviours and be able to help him through his fears.

Learn about the horse's digestive system, his needs, how he thinks and behaves and learn how you need to respond to that! Discover what you need to have on hand for first aid and how to apply it. Create a paddock paradise to the best of your ability for your best friend, the horse. Learn what really makes the horse 'tick' and how to truly meet him, and develop the connection you have always wanted....because you will know him from the inside-out.

The course contents are online and we will meet three times year in Byron and also in Bacchus Marsh.
A list of professionals in all areas will also be supplied...this will grow as our network develops. The addition of a list of professionals is so as to help you, the horse owner (or potential horse owner), find what you need without fuss...find out who has the best deals on rugs and wormers etc...which locals in your area give barefoot trims and handle the horse in an appropriate manner...who is the best dentist, and what options are there if I don't want to sedate? Which of the vets are 'horse-vets'?; where can I get fencing materials or equipment from at a reasonable price?

You will find the components of the lectures 'feed' into each other...for example, an understanding of nutrition is incomplete without knowing how the digestive system works...and knowing about the horses psychology improves your grasp of different training/handling methods.
